🆂🅲🅰🅿🆄🅻🅰🆁 🆆🅸🅽🅶🅸🅽🅶 It refers to the medial (inside) portion of the shoulder blade pulling away from the ribcage when the arm is moving. It looks kind of like a wing, and that's where we get the name . You can have a winging scapula without pain, making the correlation between the 2 not as clear as we tend to think. BUT if you are having shoulder issues, improving your shoulder stability and optimizing the mechanics of the shoulder can be a BIG help! One critical muscle for address a winging scapula is the serratus anterior. The serratus anterior is an important muscle that sits underneath your shoulder blade and wraps around the side to your ribs. It plays a significant role in keeping your scapula moving optimally when reaching overhead. Many of these movements involve some form of scapular protraction, which helps target this muscle. There are a range of difficulty levels in this post. The supine DB reach being the easiest, and the single arm serratus press being the most difficult. Back in Business 🙌 Gladiator is coming home! 🥳 We are officially launching our brand new improved & spectacular 2020 timetable on Monday 3rd August 🚀 Currently running 🏃‍♂️ Saturday conveyor belt circuits of 6 per group to keep everybody motivated for fired up for the BIG return! 😎 3 x 15 min stations run by our spectacular team of coaches. These weekend we had loads of work on mobility, movement patterns, core work and just running through the mechanics 🧰 of the body with a good thrashing throw into the middle. Natasha, Leanne & Katy we’re leading yesterday’s sessions and delivery a full package from their expertise which between them collectively brings the skill set of circuit training, body balance, strength & conditioning & topped off by Leanne’s Pilates core work and flexibility which is crafted from her sport therapy, rehabilitation, injury prevention and physiotherapy experiences. 👌 Yesterday we had 70 Gladiators & rubgy players 🏉 through the gates all in closed groups and it was actually one of the proudest moments for me since I created my brand. 🙏 All of this hard graft was topped off sure the beautiful Jolene’s home made healthy smoothies to replenish our guests and put a smile on their faces before they headed off to enjoy the weekends sunshine ☀️ Last 2 Saturdays coming up before we take a week to stop ✋ reset & preparing for our Glorious return to business on Monday 3rd August 🥳 Thank you so so must to all of my beautiful, wonderful & magnificent coaches! Ritmi frenetici, impegni, scadenze ed il peso delle responsabilità sembrano schiacciarci letteralmente. Il corpo reagisce sempre nello stesso identico modo di milioni di anni fa. Si prepara alla lotta o alla fuga a prescindere che sia un leone che vuole sbranarci oppure il litigio con il nostro partner o il capoufficio. Il nostro corpo si comporta ancora nella medesima maniera mettendo in circolo tutta una serie di sostanze relative allo stress che ci consentono di stare in allerta e difenderci dagli “attacchi”. Le emozioni possono manifestarsi nel corpo come tensioni, rigidità muscolare, insonnia, disturbi della digestione o del ciclo mestruale, bruciori di stomaco, mal di schiena, tensione al collo e tanti altri disagi che condizionano il nostro benessere. Quando è stata l’ultima volta che hai dedicato del tempo a te stesso? Ti sarà capitato di startene un po’ per conto tuo a contatto con la Natura e di sicuro sarà impossibile che hai dimenticato le sensazioni che provavi. Sensazioni di “libertà”. Eppure il mutuo è sempre lì da pagare, il rapporto col partner è sempre lì che non va, il lavoro è sempre uno schifo, la paga è sempre poca, ma… Ma quando sei con te stesso, immerso nella Natura, a volte il tempo sembra fermarsi per un istante. Si riscopre quella sintonia che abbiamo dimenticato. Istinti atavici, innati, che abbiamo radicato nel nostro DNA e che aspettano solo di esser tirati fuori. Vivere la Natura non ti cambierà la vita ma potrebbe seriamente cambiare il modo in cui tu la vedi. Hello everyone! How have you been? Some of you already know by now that I cannot walk & my neurologist also told my parents that I won’t be able to walk ever!!! 🙄 But my physical medicine Doctor Dr. Rabin had a different thought for me 😁 So he prescribed this kid walk gait trainer for me so that it can help me to stand properly & sometimes surprisingly to move independently 😇 Somehow it gets hard for me still to balance in there as for my poor neck control 😒 but i really love this instrument. How's the sunday going you guys? This was supposed to be one of those 'How Yogis chill' type post but then I looked at the picture and thought of doing a bit of self appreciation. This is my ROM (Active & passive) without any warm-up. I got so many messages yesterday about my flexiblity and I realised that hell yeah woah I have really come a long way. I WAS NOT flexible at all when I started, people. I was actually pretty stiff. It has taken years of practice + patience to reach even here. Also, this is the leg I injured last year being over ambitious in splits so this is a progress that makes me really happy. Guys, don't worry about touching your head to knees or finding splits. Think about lengthening, strengthening and improving the mobility of your body. While it's cool to slide into a split after an hour of stretching, it is even cooler to reach down at any time and pick something from the ground without feeling pain anywhere. Following up on my yesterday’s post over Hip Extension: For your hips to be able to extend, they need to rotate first! . In running, you see legs swinging back and forth, but you don’t see rotation. This might lead you into thinking that I need to stretch the hip flexors and the hamstrings, those ranges I can see...that’s the traditional way how recreational runners are thought to do, right? . But underneath that all is the fact that if your hip joint cannot rotate, you will run out of space for hip extension and flexion. It is kind of as if the joint was screwed on so tightly that it couldn’t move freely. . So never forget to work on your hip rotation Mobility! The faster you want to go, the more freedom of movement you need to have in your hips! 😊👍 . Warming up with hip rotations before my sprints here...the bench was an inch too High though 😅 (This is not how you expand ranges though. If you need help in that, let me know!) . .

You mean rest days aren’t enough??” No unfortunately, a rest day isn’t enough.  Consistent training builds a deficit that cannot be balanced out by a single rest day.  A deload week is a chance for your body to repair connective tissue and restore your hormonal imbalances. . So what do you do during a deload week?  Rest the whole week? Not at all, you can still train smart, it’s simply a temporary reduction in weekly training stress to give your body & mind a break from hard training. . And by stress, I mean the general mental & physical strain/fatigue that goes hand in hand with regular intense training, as well as the microscopic damage to your muscles and joints. . By alleviating this stress temporarily, you can reduce joint and ligament strain and the dramatically reduce the risk of injury and burnout. . Train smart 🦍💛 .

Svep 👉 för filmklipp av: . • pull-ups, 4 x 8 reps (så många jag klarade, sen hjälp med foten upp och bromsade på vägen ner) • botten-upp-press med KB, 3 x 10 reps/arm • gorillarodd, 3 x 8 reps/sida + huksittade armsträck • omvända flyes i cabelcross, 3 x 8 reps • hög rodd i cabelcross + smala push-ups + hunden med rakt/diagonalt benindrag, 3 x 8 triset • axelrotation utåt, 3 x 10/sida . Det här är typiska favoriter som liksom sitter i ryggmärgen när jag tränar med fokus på baksida överkropp. Och det är inte alltid jag har tid med alla dessa övningar, men nu på halvsemestern så. НЕ карьерный РОСТ . . Удивительно наблюдать, как в своей профессиональной сфере с каждым годом меняются приоритеты, привычки и взгляды. . С каждым годом я, например, приобретаю всё разные девайся, отказываясь от тех, которые по-моему уже устарели или не достаточно функциональны. . С каждым годом меняется моя личная практика (кстати, было время, когда я СЕБЕ ЛИЧНО вообще в этом вопросе внимание не уделяла - думала, что занятий в группе достаточно). Сегодняшний комплекс зарядки отличен от двухлетней давности и кардинально противоположен тому, что я делала, например, 4 года назад. . С каждым годом я убеждаюсь, что самые простые вещи - самые эффективные, особенно в долгосрочном плане! Может берпи 100 раз и поможет сжечь сколько-то калорий, но добрый старый велосипед сделает это в разы мягче и с пользой на все тело, без стресса 👍🏻 . С каждым годом я замечаю, как меняются люди вокруг и иногда я даже играю в этом пусть небольшую, но роль 🥰 . С каждым годом появляется ощущения, что знания буквально приоткрываются, уводя меня все глубже в процессы внутри тела, с оглядкой на внешние обстоятельства. Иной раз удивляюсь, как я это раньше не замечала. Видимо, была ещё не готова 😉 . Интересная штука, эта жизнь, однако 🌸 . А на видео - комплекс на улучшение подвижности плечевых суставов. Практикуйтесь благо 🙏🏻 .

Mobility Routine🐿 If you find yourself having to do the same stretches everyday to workout or function, then maybe you aren't doing something right. People perform passive techniques that will show quick progress and results but not provide long term solutions. If you find that you stretch your hip flexors everyday with no improvement, then maybe its time to try something new. Usually when individuals have constant tightness, they have a weakness issue, not a mobility issue. For example: everyday take time to strengthen the hip flexor and core, see if you notice any improvement after a week. Similarly, if you have to stretch your ankles everyday just to squat, then try a more long term result, like working on eccentrics, movement & active mobility. Tag a friend😉
