Since the cold weather has finally hit I'm finding myself wanting warm food for every meal of the day🥶 Today's lunch was so nice and warming, and not to mention healthy and filling 😋 Sausage casserole/stew (only took me 15 mins to make!!) With couscous, avocado, and an egg overeasy! The stew consisted of sausage (use meat alternatives if preferred!) With celery, carrots, peppers, garlic, tinned tomatoes and seasoned with pepper, chilli flakes, tumeric and paprika! Easy quick and tasty😊

I have not done any food photography in months! I mean, the whole process of taking your camera out and setting up the whole “scene”, I haven’t done that in so long. I kinda forgot how to do it in a way. In a way, I stopped doing it because I moved to a new apartment and I finally found space to put my gear up and I was just too lazy to set it up and then put it back. It looks like I still got it!! Why I went from 𝐕𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐍 to 𝐕𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍 (+ dairy free): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My main reason: 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐈𝐍 • Eggs are a complete protein which means they give your body all of the necessary amino acids that our body’s NEED to function. • I work out a lot.. pretty much daily! Our bodies need protein to maintain muscle mass and bone health! This is especially important when you’re active! • I aim for 70-80 grams of protein a day. I get it primarily from whole grains, nuts, seeds, and eggs (mostly egg whites) • Soy has phytoestrogens and is one of the most highly processed and genetically modified foods out there! While I do love a good tofu recipe, I generally try to keep my tofu consumption to once or twice a week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 Reasons Include: • egg yolks are a great source of vitamins. Honestly, was skeptical about the flavour just cause I did not know what to expect and only knew it was preserved food. But brushing off that idea, I finally tried it and honestly, it was delish! My favourite one is the Mexican bowl ; was the perfect spice and the tuna itself tasted good! Did justice to Mexican dishes that I’m familiar with . The 2 other flavours were great too but not as much as the mexican for sure ! I can’t wait to purchase these when it arrives at my local groceries. ________________

Vegane Orangenkekse mit 🍊Glasur 2 Orangen 🍊🍊 (davon die Schale und den Saft) 1 Tüte Ei-Ersatz+50 ml Sprudelwasser 500 g Weizenmehl 2 TL Backpulver mit Reinweinstein 150 g Zucker 1 Tüte Tonka-Zucker 200 g Margarine Für die 🍊-Glasur: 1/2 Orange auspressen und mit Puderzucker verrühren bis eine dicke Glasur entsteht. Zubereitung: 1. Orangen 🍊 waschen und ganz fein reiben. 2. Die Orangen 🍊 auspressen. 3. Ei-Ersatz in Sprudelwasser auflösen. 4. Backpulver, Zucker, Margarine, Orangensaft und Schale in eine Schüssel geben. 5. Nach und nach das Mehl dazugeben und kneten bis ein weicher Teig entsteht. 6. Den Teig zugedeckt 30 Min. ruhen lassen. 7. Den Teig nochmal durchkneten und mit dem Teigroller ausrollen. Nach Wunsch Kreisförmig oder anderen Ausstechformen ausdrücken. Backblech mit Backpapier auslegen und die Formen drauflegen. 8. Im vorgeheizten Backofen bei 170 Grad 10-15 Min. backen. Die Backzeit wird erhöht, wenn man die Kekse dicker zubereitet. 9. Kekse auskühlen lassen. 10. Die obere Seite der Kekse in die Glasur tauchen und mit Orangeat (kandierte Orangenschalen) verzieren. Fertig! 🌱

Another lunch of leftovers today 🙌🏼This picture does not do this salad justice because it is so delicious! I made gluten free honey mustard chicken tenders with gluten free bread crumbs and the best sauce: just Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and sriracha ( try it- you won’t regret it!) Tossed them on a bed of spinach with cucumber, tomato, onion, pepper, bacon, goat cheese, and some tortilla strips I forgot to add until later. SO. GOOD. 🤩

So lets go over the some of the key points shall we?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1) TRAINING I want you to understand that in order to build, maintain and sustain muscle we must give it a reason to stay or grow. That's the nature of a lifters career, every heard the term "use it or lose it"? That is exactly what we are doing here. The training that built your body will be the training that you will use in order to lean down. I recommend that you stick to compound movements as the main focus along with training in both rep ranges of hypertrophy and strength. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2) MACROS/CALORIC INTAKE There's subtle tweaks to the macros and that is highly individualized. Mainly we are either reducing carbs and fats to cut or increasing carbs and fats to bulk. Again it's going to differ per individual, you'll have to figure out how much fuel is necessary for your workouts along with hitting your composition goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3) PROTEIN This macro stays constant for the most part, there is a range though if you want to be more flexible. The leaner you are the higher your protein intake can be as your body is more adaptable to utilizing protein. I’m super tight today😩. Explore different types of movement b/c when you naturally move your knees will not always be behind your toes, your shoulders won’t always be down and back, along with all the other rules we made up. When you watch kids plays they aren’t thinking knees behind toes! Lol they are just playing and flowing. Not that these things are wrong but when you train with restrictions out of fear that’s exactly what you do to your body, you give it limitations and tell your brain that this movement is bad. Train safely but don’t limit your ability. This Body is truly amazing! You should try it out sometime. Take care of it because it has been taking care of you even when you didn’t take care of it. Be kind to yourself and others! Be Great Peeps!💙

My heart is filled with joy thinking of all the memories I made this year. ⁣ Looking back at 2019 it has been a year of adventure and travelling. ⁣ ⁣ I explored New Zealand at the start of the year. Spent a month in Hawaii in the middle of the year and settled at the east coast of Canada in August. ⁣ ⁣ I’m September I was invited to drive from coast to coast through Canada with the kids cancer foundation and here is the little house in the prairies, which I always wanted to see. ⁣ ⁣ Letting go of structure and perceived security allowed me to dive into new experiences and adventures, and I’m loving it. ⁣ ⁣ I transformed like a butterfly and now stepped into my true power, coaching in wellness and life through my amazing and meaningful experiences. ⁣ .⁣ .⁣

🥙 Mediterranean Harvest Bowl w/ Homemade Pumpkin Hummus ⏲ Under 15 Mins Putting some leftover pumpkin hummus to good use 👌🏼 Love throwing meals like this together in under 10 mins 🤩 Got very chilly here in Houston ❄️ & I’m honestly surprised I’m saying this...but I dig it 😳 I usually don’t love the freezing cold but I enjoy the change 🙋🏽‍♀️ Cold front should last a few days so you know what that means...cozy dinner bowls! 🤗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plate Deets | Serves 1👇🏼 ▫️1 Chickpea + Za’atar Harvest Bowl (@dailyharvest) ▫️1 frozen Naan Bread (@traderjoes) ▫️Pumpkin Hummus {recipe below} ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hummus Deets | Serves 6-8👇🏼 ▫️15 oz can Garbanzo Beans, drained ▫️15 oz can Pumpkin Purée (@wholefoods) ▫️2 tbsp Tahini (@traderjoes) ▫️1/2 fresh Lemon, juiced ▫️1 tbsp Olive Oil (@bertolli_us) ▫️2 tsp Pumpkin Spice ▫️1 tsp Chili Powder ▫️Pinch of Salt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How To⁉️ ▫️Harvest Bowl - Dump frozen contents into a pan with olive oil. This past weekend, I went to a Vegan Food Festival here in Houston 🎊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a life-long vegetarian, this festival was an absolute dream 🤩 For those of you who don’t know, yes, I have been vegetarian all my life. So have my parents and their parents and their parents 👵🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Growing up in America as a vegetarian definitely had its challenges. I was always the difficult one when it came to deciding where to go eat amongst my friends 😅 And I always had to bring my own lunch to school. Choices were limited & just not that great 🤷🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s amazing to see so many chain restaurants starting to implement vegan/vegetarian options! 🙌🏼 So grateful to see this change happening 🌎 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Swipe to see some of the delish food we ate! 😋 Waited 2 hours in line for the fried chicken sandwich but it was so worth it 👌🏼 Hope to have many more festivals like this here in Houston!

🍳 Potato Hash Breakfast Plate ⏲ Under 30 Mins | Serves 3 Multitasking to the extreme, cooking up a feast this morning for breakfast 👩🏽‍🍳 Doesn’t get any better than this breakfast plate 😍 My go-to fave 👏🏼 Topped it off with the microgreens I bought @vegandalefestival! 🌱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Deets👇🏼 ▫️6 Pasture-Raised Eggs (@vitalfarms) ▫️2 small Sweet Potatoes ▫️1/2 large Yellow Onion, cubed ▫️3 clove Garlic, minced ▫️1/2 Serrano Pepper, chopped ▫️Refried Black Beans ▫️Spices - Cumin, Chili Powder, Smoked Paprika, Cayenne, Salt & Pepper ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How To⁉️ ▫️Wash all of your potatoes & place on a plate. Poke holes all around & heat in the microwave for 1 1/2 mins. Then cut into cubes. ▫️Prep your onion & garlic. Add that & your potatoes to a large pan with EVOO. Sprinkle with your spices & cook for roughly 10 mins. ▫️Meanwhile, cook your eggs sunny-side up in another large pan, 4 at a time. ▫️Also in a pot, cook your refried beans on low heat. Add a splash of water & season with salt & chili powder. 👉🏼 Serve in a plate your hash, beans, & eggs. Season your eggs with salt & pepper. Cut some fresh microgreens & sprinkle on top. Drizzle your favorite salsa on top of everything (I used my current favorite - Hot Doña Salsa by @tacodeli) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Have you ever felt food guilt? Yesterday, I did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s weird bc I usually don’t struggle with this. Fortunately, I’ve always had a healthy relationship with food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve never been one to deprive myself of something I want. Especially food. I just know to eat everything in moderation & if I do eat “unhealthy” one day, I’ll just be sure to eat better the next. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But somehow, I didn’t feel this way yesterday. It was pouring during lunch so I decided to skip my lunch workout. Instead, I ended up eating a baked potato the size of my head 🤷🏽‍♀️ Let me tell you, it was a bomb 🍑 potato & my taste buds were very happy 👌🏼 I decided that no big deal, I’ll just do a quick run after work. Not bc of the potato but bc I didn’t go during lunch. But then life happened & I didn’t end up going to the gym at all & the guilt started to set in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s not what I want my mentality to be like and it just takes telling yourself that it’s okay to have a “bad” day. Today is a NEW DAY, it is nice & chilly outside ❄️ & I’ll get a workout in today during lunch which I definitely need for my MIND & not my body. Positive mental outlook is so much more important 🙌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you read through this, thank you! 💕 And just know, no ones perfect. We all have road bumps but we all get over them.
