Great post .fitnesstraining ・・・ Stop relying on just single joint, muscle specific and single plane movements. • Yes, those movements can develop specific muscles but do they accurately replicate a job strength need? • We, as First Responders, active duty members and civilians, use multi-joint and multi-planar movements to get the job done. • Your exercises should require the use of multiple muscle groups on multiple planes. (Compound Movements) • By doing so, you're helping prevent future injuries by developing your strength while in motion. • Not convinced? Click the LINK IN OUR BIO and try our 14 day FREE TRIAL. How often does your uniform patrol unit(s) train for active shooters? What gear do you have readily available? Family, the threat is real. Be ready. Be Effective. —————————————————————— Miami-Dade police released body-camera footage showing the dramatic firefight with an intruder at the Trump National Doral hotel. The footage shows a Miami-Dade police officer firing his sidearm as shot after shot rings out in front of the opulent Doral hotel lobby. The officer enters the lobby, and eventually makes his way up the stairs, where gunman Jonathan Oddi was arrested with gunshot wounds to the legs. Oddi survived and was charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree attempted murder of law-enforcement officers. He made his first appearance in Miami-Dade criminal court and was ordered held without bond. Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

Compassion: sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it (Webster) Sometimes saying “We are here to help” “We care” “We understand” even “We love you” can make a difference is someones life. What the media doesn’t exploit are LEO/First Responders making a difference in people’s lives daily. Most don’t care for the recognition because it’s what they do. It’s who they are. Thank you to those who bring compassion to the people in your community. Keep up the good work. Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

Controlling the hips gives a major advantage during a fight; it limits movement. So train to control the hip. Remember that 67% of LE UOF result with both officer and suspect on the ground. Off-Duty Officer is on administrative leave after drawing his pistol. The reason for contact per the media is “the music was too loud” and the officer went to confront the band playing at the skate park. ———————————————————————— Again until we have the official report we will not make a judgement on this situation. However here are a few training points: 1. When Off-duty remember your actions off duty still reflect you as an officer and your agency. 2. Yes, a skateboard is a weapon. Not justifying the officers actions but if your plan is to smack someone with a skateboard standby for retaliation. This could be a reason why the off duty officer drew his weapons. 3. Pick and choose your involvement in a situation while off-duty. There are on-duty officers that can be called to handle a potential non life threatening situation like this. 4. Be a good witness. Call dispatch, Identify yourself, still be a witness. Get involved if someone’s life is in danger (active shooter, medical emergency, etc) Be smart. Be ready. Funny right? You confront someone in a small dress, bathing suit, etc. Oh where would this person be hiding a weapon you ask? To those who think “people don’t put weapons up there” well we are here to tell you they 100% do. Follow search policies and procedures. Remember to watch hands. Something like this will more than likely be found if the person is taken to jail. So it’s important to WATCH HANDS during the initial contact. Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

I’m a firm believer in setting the example. Especially if you are a supervisor or leader. If you say don’t do something then you do it. You will lose the respect of your employees. Plus this is stupid, this can be an officer safety issue. I can understand during an interview, indoors, etc but sunglasses allow an officer to remain vigilant in a bright environment. Pro Tip: Get a doctor’s note saying you need to wear sunglasses while in a bright environments (problem solved 😉). Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

Training Points: 1. Be aware of your environment. A confined area will limit the ability to create distance. 2. Try not to have a radio in your hand at all. It’s modern day, mics are cheap and effective. Follow policy. 3. Training stability is important. Check out our fitness page for tips and workouts: LINK IN BIO 4. No backstory on this situation. Regardless lets talk about where not to stand. Try not to stand directly in front or behind a vehicle. Even with deadly force coverage you can get run over not to mention criminal charges that can possibly arise if deadly force is used. Multiple individuals in the vehicle and no cover? There are other options that could have be used here to limit risk. 1. If an officer has deadly force coverage on a situation and you just stroll up without your firearm out; it could be a mistake. You can always put it back 2. You pulled one suspect out of the vehicle. Make sure someone detains and searches him/her. When the vehicle started to run; it’s seems the individual that was pulled out was forgotten. Stay aware of the entire situation. *if you have background on this situation please DM* Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

Can you hold your own? Are you a liability? ———————————————————————— This Officer seems to have the ability to control this suspect while the other officers keep the environment safe. U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib told Detroit Police Chief James Craig that he should only employ black people as analysts on his facial recognition team because “non-African Americans think African Americans all look the same.” ———————————————————————-We are not a political page. However understand that once you reach a certain level of “Law Enforcement” it’s very much a political game. The Chief had a great response. (Our knowledge of this chief is limited but we agree with his response) “I trust people who are trained regardless of race...”- Chief Craig. This is why we hate politics. We don’t trust a single one. What you don’t see: -Refused to comply for over 20 minutes -refused to give up his identification 14 times, refused to unlock the door or roll down the window 20 times and was warned at least eight times What you see: - Officers escalating the situation due to non-compliance. - Ask, Tell, Enforce -arrested for resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, concealing identity, dialing 911 to report a false alarm or complaint, and a seat belt violation. -NMSP Chief Pete Kassetas states “I’m standing by my officers. Training Points: Stop charging vehicle after a car is disabled or the pursuit ends. My questions is what’s the rush? Exit the vehicle, get mass between you and the suspect(s), give commands. Obviously have coverage on the suspects. If you aren’t training this way or a similar way...you are WRONG! Data tells us this. You can’t take away all risk but you can minimize it. Train Smart. Train Hard. I highly suggest taking a class from: Please follow me: [email protected]_community_

“Oh he/she is in handcuffs I’m not worried“ until that person knows more than you. This is always why we HANDCUFF the individual behind the back. Off-duty officer reacts to armed robber: tunnel vision occurs during high stress. Thought process: see a deadly threat, stop threat. Simple enough, right? We have seen IG nerds praying for a situation like this so they can subsecond draw from the appendix and use their $3000 glock to finally give themselves credibility and “experience”. However this will more than likely never happen. There are multiple variables that need to be taken into consideration, even though you will only process so much as incidents occur extremely fast. Imagine you are with your family and this armed robber walks in; do you take action and risk your family or so you wait to take action? What would you do? In case some of you forgot ・・・ Training Point: Apparently it’s STILL cool to be down range for no reason while training. Regardless of your background, certs, follower count, experiences, etc; still ZERO reason to be unsafe. We take these measures because of probability of something happening. If you’re down range, and someone is running a drill; they fall on accident, gun goes boom, you get shot...that’s not an accident that NEGLIGENT on all parties involved!!!! READ ENTIRE POST————————————————————————-Unknown situation or background. Not in the US. Let’s discuss human reaction. Crowds can be overwhelming especially if it’s a non-peaceful protest aka riot. Even peaceful protest can be overwhelming for Law Enforcement. You can only see so much which means you can only process so much information. Individual with the long gun scans the crowd completely flagging his counterpart. Why did he do this? High stress, lack of training, maybe he heard or potentially saw something. Notice how his eyes went then gun followed? Is that a bad thing no we prefer you train that way. HOWEVER you must process additional info. This can be trained though reps of high stress training situations, competitive shooting, etc. Many ways to train this. Also Riot training sucks. Again please the purpose of this post was understanding human reaction to large crowds. *any political comments will be deleted or you’ll be blocked* *Educational purpose only* Please follow me: [email protected]_community_
