💥Ankle Mobility Assessment💥 ——————————————————- This is an assessment I use with every client as a way to check their current available mobility in each ankle, over the last few years I’ve changed the way I use it really focusing on minimizing any compensations that will give you a poor reading. Remembers your conclusion after of the assessment is only good as your assessment so it will take time and practice to see all the finer details but you should get a pretty good idea where you are currently at! Remember to always assess and not guess🔑 ——————————————————- 👉🏼 Start in a lunge position with shoes off, foot pointed straight, ankle-knee-hip inline and shin vertical while your big toe is touching the wall. .. 👉🏼Place a finger on the back of your heel while slowly bringing your knee towards the wall, keep it tracking right over your 2nd/3rd toe and look out for any hip shift, ankle/foot collapse, knee cave or heel lift. ... 👉🏼 Start gradually moving your foot back till you find a distance where the heel just starts to lift off the ground, assess both sides and see if you have any asymmetry from left to right. ——————————————————- Restricted ankle mobility is such a common issue I see all the time, for every 10 people I see 7 have some sort of restrictions in the ankle either from injury or lifestyle. There are a lot of different methods to improve ankle dorsiflexion first you need to figure out if you feel it in the front of the ankle? Back of the ankle? Or both??
