I’ve never been able to really display my fitness progress for people as well as I’d like due to the fact that I refused to be in any photos from about 13 years old to 18 years old. I still remember when these photos were uploaded in November 2008. It was the first time I saw myself for what everyone else saw me as and I was shocked. I knew I was a skinny kid but I finally realized how frail and lanky I looked. I credit these pictures (coupled with a feeling of inadequacy as a male) for what began my fitness journey. Its been a great 11 years and I’m excited for what the next 11 years have in store for me.

(High waisted pants help lmao) no but seriously— . A common misconception is gaining weight on the scale a ‘number’ is automatically a negative. In some cases yes it can mean maybe a little too much pizza👀 but in other circumstances it can be a positive. . I often get messages asking ‘why am I gaining weight when I look and feel better?’ It can be down to many variables but lets mention a few — . 🔹 your body can fluctuate day to day - if your dieting and you get a few days of increased weight this can just be down to hormones or water weight, progress in weight loss is not linear! - same goes for if your trying to gain, you may get some off days but that’s okay!! 🔹 Muscle is way more dense than fat so if your training hard and eating well chances are your packing on the good stuff😏, therefore weight gain can mean your doing ace! . The number on your scale truly does mean very little I like to think of it more as a guideline and nothing more. I weigh around 45lbs more than what I weighed in the left pic but I feel way more confident and happy. . So in terms of body recomposition I have brought my waist in from training, put on more lower body mass and generally worked on improving myself. While there is nothing wrong with me in the left I simply want to prove two things — . the scale really shouldn’t dictate your mood let it serve you as a guideline only and also it is definitely possible to improve your shape through training and diet which usually means gaining some weight, which isn’t bad!! . . . As you all know that follow me, I tore my pec and had surgery this past December. I couldn’t do squats till just 6 months ago. During my pec recovering my squat numbers went to shit.
