This moma is back!! 9 weeks postpartum and I have got myself back to the gym. Starting off with slow light sessions with lots of muscle mind connection, ego to be left at the door because the weights are nowhere near where they used to be. Hopefully it won't be long to my back and my peach looks like this 🙈

From 2005 to 2015 I've visited the most important museums in Europe. Those were the years I was studying art history, so there was nothing better for me than browse all the museums, when travelling in a new city. At that time, museums were seen like religious places. When you were hot and overwhelmed by the city in itself, you could be sure to find fresh air and silence in museums. . Even when they were more crowded than usual, people's behaviour were respectful. The were aware to be visiting an important place. They were in a awe and trying to learn and enjoy. . 2018. My first real shock happened last year in New York. I was in the MoMa. I had my NYpass, so didn't bother to check the actual fee for the day. After the first 20 minutes the place got more and more crowded. People started screaming, laughing, bouncing, running. I felt like i was in the most horrible mall. Instead I was in one of the best museums in the world. What happened? I realised that was the free-entrance afternoon, aka HELL. I saw a woman asking to a staff member "Where is the Notte stellata of Van Gogh?", mixing Italian and English. People running around like they were to buy the last fu**ing iphone. A crowd of not less than 40 people at a time trying to snap a photo of the Van Gogh's masterpiece, without even looking - really looking - at it. . More or less the same scene in the British Museum, in front of the Rosetta Stone. Totally different story in the Munch temporary exhibition (awesome btw) in the same Museum, which was ticketed. . What's my conclusion? For sure I'm not saying culture shouldn't be available to anyone. That is really amazing. But we should invest more in education, not to reduce museums in nice selfie backgrounds. To say the least. .

John Chamberlain is best known for creating sculptures from old automobiles (or parts of) that bring the Abstract Expressionist style of painting into three dimensions. • He began by carving and modelling, but turned to working in metal in 1952 and welding 1953. By 1957, while staying with the painter Larry Rivers in Southampton, New York, he began to include scrap metal from cars with his sculpture Shortstop, and from 1959 onward he concentrated on sculpture built entirely of crushed automobile parts welded together. • Far more than just another wrinkle on assemblage Shortstop and subsequent works completely reinvented modeling casting, and volume altering Marcel Duchamp's notion of the readymade and using the car as both medium and tool.

The battle for the title of the most expensive living artist at auction - Jeff Koons gets it back ! In a previous post, we were wondering if 2019 would offer us a new world record for a living artist at auction; and it indeed did (for $0.8 million) ! . Going back to 2013 with $58.4 million paid for the Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons, the sculpture became the most expensive work of art to be auctioned for a living artist. We have had to wait the end of 2018 in order to get a new record of this kind. It then was achieved by David Hockney’s work ‘Portrait of an artist’. The painting realised a $90.3 million sale. Now the record came back in the hands of Jeff Koons when it’s 1986 sculpture ‘Rabbit’ sold for $91.1 million at Christie’s on Wednesday evening. . The ‘Rabbit’ sculpture was made in an edition of 3 and one artist’s proof. The one that sold at Christie’s was the last example held by a private owner, i.e. the media mogul S.I. Newhouse Jr. who died in 2017.

Absolutely LOVE this graphic by @triborodesign ・・・ As part of MoMA’s 2019 expansion, we’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to design a graphic visualization representing the new MoMA. The artwork is inspired by the museum’s 53rd Street facade. Working with @momadesignstudio, the visualization is being applied to various printed matter, member materials and a mural at the museum’s entrance. MoMA is currently undergoing a major expansion by Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Photography: Martin Seck for MoMA Design Studio and @lisaskim
