Overall, winter hasn't been too bad this year. Today however may have made up for it.😱 Between work and home I spent around seven hours clearing snow. At home this old Ariens snowblower has served me well for over twenty years! It may not be pretty anymore but it gets the job done👍 .

Ramen. This was a bit of a project that started this morning with soft boiling some eggs to marinate in a seasoned soy sauce mixture. @seriouseats had an article about how to make Italian noodles more like ramen noodles: put baking soda in the water and use angel hair pasta (worked ok but will try to get real ramen noodles next time). Broth is made with charred veggies, miso and mushrooms. Topped with carrots, cabbage, corn, cilantro, sesame seeds and scallions.

Reverse sear ribeye topped with farmer's market fresh goat cheese with dill. Sauted mushrooms with rosemary as a side. Reverse sear is easy enough. Season the meat as you wish (in this case salt, pepper and garlic). Place in oven at 225 for approximately 1 hour. Broil for a minute to sear in flavor.

16 weeks. Almost halfway!! I have a lot more energy. hardly any sickness. Always a good day for some PUMPKIN BREAD🧡 Definitely satisfying my sweet tooth today! Super easy to make and sweetened only with organic honey🍯 . . Recipe: 1/3 cup of melted coconut oil🥥 3/4 cup of organic honey 2 eggs🥚 1 & 1/2 cup of pumpkin purée 1/4 cup of almond or coconut milk 2 tsp of pumpkin spice blend 1 tsp of baking soda 1 tsp of vanilla extract Topped with @enjoylifefoods mega chunks and crushed walnuts. Add ingredients in this order, whisking in between additions. Bake at 325 for 45-50mins! Best when eaten with almond butter🤤 . .

🍕Snack Attack🍕⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ What's your go to snack??⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ I think I'm safe in saying that snacking was my biggest downfall when I started working to lose weight. I'd prep all my meals, then at some point I'd get a notion and want a lil sumthin sumthin. Next thing you know I'm 3 boxes deep in Jaffa Cakes.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ So, how can we snack without having to put the daily macros in jeopardy? Quite easily really. Maybe it's just me - but when I think "snack" I think "biscuits", but I think there are a few of us in that boat. But if you can step away from that mindset there are a tonne of snacks you can have for 100 calories or less. The trick to a good snack is that it helps keep hunger at bay until your next meal - it shouldn't be an entire meal!⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Now you may look at these and think they aren't snacks, or aren't 100 calories. But here's the secret - you have to understand portion control and moderation. When you see beans on toast - that's 1 slice of bread and 60g baked beans. Not two slices of white bread with a heap of butter and a tin of beans on top. The popcorn is air-popped, not a large cinema popcorn with salt and two spurts of butter. Portions should be controlled and small.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ If you're eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with the equivalent of another dinner spaced in between all 3 - you're going to struggle to stay in a deficit. Ideally your meals will be high volume and nutritious enough to help keep the snacking at a minimum! ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀

Okay so if you're anything like me, you think protein is like the grossest stuff and you can't drink it. Soo solution.. 1/2 scoop of chocolate peanut butter protein with 2tbsp of peanut butter. Mix it till all the powered is gone then boom a snack. 305 cals 23g protein 19g fat 11 carbs Honesty can't beat it and it make the peanut butter taste super good and sweet. Def recommend!

I'm making homemade bone broth using a mix of beef and chicken bones. The bones are still full of flavor from when I initially seasoned the meat, so no need to add any additional herbs and spices. I can't wait to start drinking bone broth again.

Breakfast this morning consisted of a big bowl of creamy oats 🤤 A trick to making your oatmeal creamy is adding some yogurt to your mixture! I like to cook mine on a pot (on low) for about 8 minutes for everything to really soak up🤗 I don’t even know what to call this oatmeal combo, because I added a little bit of everything🤷🏻‍♀️ In the pot, I added 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1/4 cup of vanilla yogurt, 3 tbs of coconut whipped cream (makes such a difference and adds a creamy, sweet flavour to it), coconut flakes and cinnamon. On top, I added sliced banana, warmed up frozen blueberries, a dollap of chia pudding (I mixed 1 tbs chia seeds, 3 tbs water, and 1 tbs rasberry jam in a bowl and let sit for 5 mins)!! Finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon and there you have it ❤️❤️ SO many benefits to having oatmeal in the A.M because they contain soluble and insoluble fibre and help to soak up cholestrol. Oats increase growth of good bacteria in the gut, loaded with antioxidants, and improve blood sugar control!! And who said your morning oatmeal had to be plain and boring? I don’t think I’ll ever be able to just have oats+water 🤮 I definitely have a sweet tooth .. and theres SO many different ingredients you can add including honey, maple syrup, cinnamon, protein powder, coffee?!, yogurt, cacao powder, fruit, stevia, peanut butter, nutella, jam, etcc.

i started my journey in april 2018 and the pic on the left is from a little over 2 years ago in almost a size 22. i always felt so uncomfortable because my friends were always cute in all the pictures we took, and here you see me covering my face with icecream- which probably wasn’t the smartest solution but 😅 today, i am a size 14, able to fit into my sisters clothes! and i’m still growing in my fitness plans, learning the ropes of working out and enjoying them! things take a lot of time, and i’m proud of myself for taking control and looking out for my health! 😊
